Then gideon , the son of joash , went back from the fight .

基甸就从他仆人中挑了十个人，照着耶和华吩咐他的行了。

So Gideon took ten of his servants and did as the LORD told him .

The Angel spoke first : 'The Lord is with you , mighty warrior ' .

And when Gideon heard the account of the dream and its interpretation , he worshipped .

天使与基甸之间的对话十分有趣。那名天使显然是神自己向他的民显现。

It is obvious that this Angel was none other than the Lord himself in visible form .

你认为基甸是大有信心的勇士或是信心不足的人？

Do you think Gideon was a courageous man of great faith or a man of insufficient faith ?

基甸有七十个亲生的儿子，因为他有许多的妻。

And Gideon had threescore and ten sons of his body begotten : for he had many wives .

基甸说，主阿，请容我说，我凭什么拯救以色列人呢？

And he said to him , please , lord , by what way can I save israel ?

他的妾住在示剑，也给他生了一个儿子。基甸与他起名叫亚比米勒。

His concubine , who lived in Shechem , also bore him a son , whom he named Abimelech .

基甸问西巴和撒慕拿说，你们在他泊山所杀的人是什么样式。

Then said he unto Zebah and zalmunna , what manner of men were they whom ye slew at tabor ?

他们访查之后，就说：这是约阿施的儿子基甸作的。

And when they enquired and asked , they said , Gideon the son of Joash has done this thing .

又追赶米甸人，将俄立和西伊伯的首级带过约旦河，到基甸那里。

They pursued the Midianites and brought the heads of Oreb and Zeeb to Gideon , who was by the Jordan .

基甸对神说：「你若果照著所说的话，藉我手拯救以色列人。

Then Gideon said to God ," If you will save Israel by my hand , as you have said " .

基甸说，主阿，耶和华若与我们同在，我们何至遭遇这一切事呢。

And Gideon said unto him , Oh my Lord , if the LORD be with us , why then is all this befallen us ?

所以当日人称基甸为耶路巴力，意思说，他拆毁巴力的坛，让巴力与他争论。

Therefore on that day he called him Jerubbaal , saying , Let Baal plead against him , because he hath thrown down his altar .

耶和华的灵降在基甸身上，他就吹角；亚比以谢族都聚集跟随他。

But the Spirit of the LORD clothed Gideon , and he sounded the trumpet , and the Abiezrites were called out to follow him .

也不照著耶路巴力、就是基甸向他们所施的恩惠、厚待他的家。

Neither shewed they kindness to the house of Jerubbaal , namely , Gideon , according to all the goodness which he had shewed unto Israel .

以色列人非常感激基甸拯救他们脱离米甸人的手，因此想立他作王。

It begins with the Israelies being so grateful to Gideon for delivering them from bondage to Midian , they wanted to make him their king .

于是基甸在那里为耶和华筑了一座坛，起名叫耶和华沙龙（就是耶和华赐平安的意思）。这坛在亚比以谢族的俄弗拉直到如今。

Then Gideon built an altar there unto the LORD , and called it Jehovahshalom : unto this day it is yet in Ophrah of the Abiezrites .

耶和华的使者向基甸显现，对他说，大能的勇士阿，耶和华与你同在。

And the angel of the Lord appeared unto him , and said unto him , the Lord is with thee , thou mighty man of valour .
