The paper reports on a study of the process of English picture composition in an attempt to reveal the relationship between thinking in L1 and L2 writing ability .

方法：使用汉字抄写、看图作文、图形抄写和听写汉字等任务，对65名家长报告的书写困难儿童进行测查。

Methods : Using tasks of character copy , free writing according to pictures , shape copy and writing to dictation , 65 children with writing difficulties reported by their parents were investigated .

作者在对不同年级，同一个看图作文写作情况的调查中发现，学生写作中的回避现象具体表现在词汇、句型、衔接、成语、修辞、话题等方面。

It is shown that the avoidance phenomena in students ' actual writings in terms of vocabulary , structure , coherence , idiom and topic by the investigation on the different grade and the same picture composition .

The next step we could take is to form and optimize complex and long sentences to achieve the real " figure-composition " . Migrating this method to other identification of images in future work is another goal .
