山药为薯蓣科植物薯蓣（DioscoreaoppositaThunb.）的干燥根茎，味甘、性平，具有补脾养胃、补肺益肾的功效。

Chinese Yam is the rhizoma of Dioscorea opposita Thunb of Dioscorea plants , sweet flavor 、 neutral in nature , has the effect of invigorating the spleen 、 nourishing the stomach and invigorating the lung and kidney .
