The workplace culture in China 's start-up scene is even more demanding than in Silicon4 Valley , says Gary Rieschel , the US co-founder of Qiming Venture Partners , which has backed smartphone maker5 Xiaomi .

Investors are seeing valuations of certain clean-technology companies also come back down to " more rational levels , " for example , in areas that relate to water treatment and emission reduction , said Gary Rieschel , founder of Qiming Ventures .
