结论本研究获得了广州市海珠区人群的地贫发生率和基因突变谱的分布特点，为我区开展地贫人群遗传咨询、产前诊断和预防计划提供了有价值的资料。

Conclusions : Our study obtained the prevalence and spectrum of α - and β - thalassaemia in Guangzhou Haizhu district . Our results could provide valuable genetic data for genetic counseling , prenatal diagnosis and carrying out population prevention program of thalassemia .
