小王子

小王子长时间地看着蛇。

The little prince gazed at him for a long time .

于是小王子就走了，他一边走一边想着他的花。

And the little prince went away , thinking of his flower .

小王子沉默了一会又说：

After a silence the little prince spoke again :

第二天，小王子又来了。

The next day the little prince came back .

狐狸沉默不语，久久地看着小王子。

The fox gazed at the little prince , for a long time .

小王子在桌旁坐下，有点气喘吁吁。

The little prince sat down on the table and panted a little .

这时，小王子郑重其事地说：

Then the little prince said , earnestly :

The little prince was still not satisfied .

小王子就拍起巴掌来。

The little prince clapped his hands .

于是小王子就走开了。

And the little prince went away .

The little prince made no reply .

可小王子又说道：

But the little prince added :

我到达墙边的时候，正好把我的这位小王子接在我的怀抱中。

I reached the wall just in time to catch my little man in my arms ;

小王子又加了一句：

And the little prince added :

小王子的脸又红了。

The little prince flushed again .

小王子一旦提出了问题，从来不会放过。

The little prince never let go of a question , once he had asked it .

访问时间非常短，可是它却使小王子非常忧伤。

This was a very short visit , but it plunged1 the little prince into deep dejection .

关于什么是正经事，小王子的看法与大人们的看法非常不同。

On matters of consequence , the little prince had ideas which were very different from those of the grown-ups .
