一天，晏子坐着马车外出。一位车夫为他赶车。

Zeng Zi was one of Confucius .

曾子是孔子的一个学生。

Zhuang Zi calmly told Hui Zi a story :

庄子心平气和地给惠子讲了一个小故事：

Yan Zi was a famous prime minister of the State of Qi during the Spring and Autumn Period 。

晏子是春秋时期齐国有名的相国。

Duke Jing of the state of Qi discussed the general plans to govern the country with Yan Zi .

齐景公和晏子探讨治国才略。

When Zhuang Zi heard this , he gave a snort of contempt and said sarcastically4 :

庄子听了，嗤之以鼻，讽刺他说：

Ji Zi asked anxiously : " Where ? "

季子忙问：“在哪儿？”

Zi Xia said , " I had a victory , that is why I have gained weight . "

子夏说：“我获得了胜利，所以胖了。”

Yan Zi stood up and replied :

晏子站起来答道：

Zeng Zi saw Zi Xia and asked him , " Why have you gained weight ? "

曾子见到子夏，问道：“你怎么胖了？”

Zeng Zi was one of Confucius ' students . Once , Zeng Zi 's wife was going shopping .

曾子是孔子的学生，有一次，曾子的妻子准备去赶集。

Hui Zi said , " You are not the fish . How could you know that the fish is joyous ? "

惠子说：“你又不是鱼，你怎么会知道它是否快乐呢？”

In the past , there was a man named Ai Zi who was fond of sailing on the sea .

从前，有个叫艾子的人，喜欢在海上航行。

The coachman 's wife had never seen Yan Zi before and wished to have a look at him .

车夫的妻子从来没有见过晏子，很想看看。

Convinced by Yan Zi 's words , Jing Gong no longer prayed to the deities4 for rain .

景公听了晏子的这番话，就不再去向神求雨了。

The father called his two sons before Ai Zi , who asked the question , " Do you know where rice comes from ? "

于是富翁把两个儿子找来。艾子问：“你们说大米从哪儿来的？”

The intelligent Zhang Zi and the clever Hui Zi were strolling on the bridge over the Haoshui River .

智慧的庄子和聪明的惠子在濠水的桥上游玩。

Zeng Zi tied up their fat pig , took out a shining sharp knife and prepared to kill it .

曾子就把家里的肥猪捆住，拿出雪亮的尖刀，准备杀猪。

Ji Zi replied : " He is my master ! He is my master ! This is also what he is teaching me ! "

季子回答说：“他是我师傅！他是我师傅！这也是他在教我哪！”

Zhuang Zi said , " The fish is swimming freely and unhurriedly in the water . What a pleasure ! "

庄子说：“鯈鱼从容自在地在水中游玩，这真是鱼的快乐呀！”
